BattleBit Remastered, a low-poly multiplayer first-person shooter supporting up to 254 players per server, has rolled out its 2.1.1 update. This update includes several significant features and modifications, most notably the implementation of community servers.

Developers have been working on the community server customization interface from scratch over the past month. The update presents a pivotal moment for players who have been looking to play BattleBit Remastered with specific game modes, maps, or rule sets. Now, these players can use the server browser to find community servers that align with their preferences. Those interested in hosting their own servers will soon have an opportunity to apply, as the developers have indicated that applications will open again soon. This rollout of community servers marks the first stage in the feature’s ongoing development.

In terms of gameplay alterations, the patch notes detail several changes. For instance, prestige will no longer reset weapon, gadget, or vehicle kills and players will not have to re-unlock attachments. In a move to reduce abuse, leaning spam has been nerfed. Bandage synchronization issues when used in vehicles have been resolved. New parameters have been set for determining player locations in safe and danger zones, focusing on the vehicle’s center as the reference point. Additional changes include increased domination tickets and various amendments to the Anti Grenade Trophy, such as its move from the heavy gadget section to the light gadget section.

The update is not short on weapon adjustments either. From snipers emitting stronger muzzle flashes to alterations in damage and recoil for various weapons like FAMAS, SG550, and Honey Badger, the 2.1.1 patch addresses a comprehensive list of weapon specifics. For instance, FAMAS saw its damage increased from 24 to 26, while the Honey Badger had its damage reduced from 32 to 28 but its fire rate increased from 800 to 880.

A host of map changes also accompany the update. The District map now supports both 64v64 and 32v32 Frontline game modes. Rush game mode on the same map has seen an adjustment to one of the attacker spawns to prevent spawn camping. Experimental modes and player sizes have been added to multiple maps, including District and Namak. Specifically, FreeForAll gamemode has been added to these maps in both 16p and 32p player sizes.

Server browsing has been enhanced to include additional filters, and servers with progression will now have proper indicators. Various bug fixes include the resolving of issues like server browser searching and a gun game bug where player’s ammo would desync. Old maps like Old District and Old Eduardovo will be available for community servers, and depending on feedback, some may return to the official map server rotation.
