Isabelle Vogt has written a beautiful reminiscence of her irreplaceable pianist father, who died a year ago today, aged 51.

Opening words:
I was always afraid of losing someone close to me. I also always thought that if that ever happened, I wouldn’t know how to continue living. And yet I continue to live, even after my dad has been gone for almost a year. That’s probably because he’s still with us somehow. I feel his joy and love everywhere, it envelops me when I think of him. When I play the piano, I feel he might even be listening to me. In fact, I firmly believe that he and his energy will never completely disappear. So many people he connected with each other, souls he touched with his music and his being, that can’t disappear, not even after death…’
