Hollywood horror franchise The Nun 2 from The Conjuring universe failed to impact Indian box office as it’s clashed with mega blockbuster Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan. Not only film failed in India but even globally Jawan is giving horror franchise run for its money.
The Nun 2 Collects Paltry 7 Cr In India In 3 Days
Film managed poor opening day of 2.10 cr followed by 2.35 cr on day two and 3.10 cr on Saturday. Film has total of 7.55 cr in 3 days and will finish with 10.75 cr 4- day weekend. It will finish with under 20-25 cr lifetime which is poor considering massive following of franchise and The Conjuring universe.

The Nun 2 Remains 40% Below Than Prequel In Domestic Market
Film collected 13.1 Million USD on day one in domestic market which is way below than 22.1 Million USD of 2018 prequel The Nun. It is also lower than 13.4 Million USD of Scream 5 and 15.2 Million USD of Insidious 5.
Michael Chaves’ The Nun 2 did an estimated $13M yesterday on its way to what looks to be a $31M-$34M opening at 3,728 theaters. While some might gripe that the opening on the high end is -36% off from Nun 1‘s $53.8M, keep in mind it’s wonky times with the pic’s lead stars Taissa Farmiga and Storm Reid and the studio unable to truly splash this event-wise, etc. Note, the 3-day ease between the openings of the first and second Annabelle was -6% while it was -12% between Blumhouse’s first two Purge titles.
At the same time, Nun 2‘s opening is in the range of the first two Annabelles’ Friday-Sundays ($37.1M and $35M respectively) and higher than the threequel Annabelle Comes Home which posted a $20.2M 3-day in a $31.1M five-day.

Taissa Farmiga and Bonnie Aarons return as Sister Irene and the titular Nun, respectively, with Jonas Bloquet, Storm Reid and Anna Popplewell joining the franchise. Filmmaker Michael Chaves returns to the series after previously directing The Curse of La Llorona and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.
