Lilia Pocitari, a Moldovan violinist based in Berlin, won first prize of 22,000 euros at the Liszt Academy’s 2023 World Bartók Competition in Budapest. Lilia is a graduate of the Buchmann-Mehta Academy in Tel Aviv.

Second prize, worth 14,000 euros, went to Tomotaka Seki from Japan. Third, with 8,000 euros was the German-Polish-Japanese violinist Maya Alexandra Kasprzak,
