The Philadelphia Orchestra is sending 14 players to China to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its icebreak tour in 1973, it was announced today – on the actual anniversary of their landing.
One of the musicians, violinist Davyd Booth, survives from the first excursion. The others are:

Since that first visit, the Orchestra has returned 11 times, lastly in 2019.
